I took my GF and her 10 year old daughter and my 9 year old son on 10/30/09 at approx 7 pm and it was a really great experience.

The waiting area- My only suggestion would be to have some charectors engaging those approaching the facility to really get the mood going. There was the batgirl on stilts but a couple of others lurking in the area would have really got the mood going in the right direction. Otherwise it was comfortable and the concessions were ok. The kids like the alien suckers but a little more in the way of themed snacks would be great...maybe even a T-Shirt or hats to commemorate the experience.

The House- This was done exceptionally well. I really wish I could have gone a 2nd time just to see what I all missed because the scenes were really elaborate. I really don't know how many rooms there were but the general consensus was 17 and they were all done up with so much detail it was hard to take it all in with the charectors engaging you. I'm thinking it was 20 to 30 minutes to get through. I gotta give kudos to the design team as there were several times I was totally blown away by people popping up in front of you seemingly coming out of nowhere. The clown areas were really good at that! Hell was awesome as well and a great start to the experience.

The Players- After going to other haunts, I have really begun to have a much greater appreciation as to how well this haunt does at moving you through scenes. Many other sites leave me with this uncomfortable point in a scene where you don't know if this part is over or not and you dont know wether to leave or if there is more coming. Terror on Rural does a great job at sucking you into the scene and seamlessly transitioning you to the next scene without your feeling like your ubnsure what to do next. This is a sign of a really polished operation. The players stayed in charector beautifully, the makeup was excellent and the voices really sold the performances as authentic. Kudos to the players and the coaches.

Favorite parts- This is really a toss up but I gotta throw a round of applause out to the clowns. The carosel and the birthday party had players pooping up out of nowhere and my son had little chucky in front of him in the blink of an eye and I can still feel his heart thumping as he tried to crawl inside of my jacket. The Angel of death also was a great beginning but is all honesty, I really didnt have a part where I felt something was cheesy or too predictable.

Conclusion- The best way to describe this is to do it from the perspective of my 9 year old son. Up until this year, he would look away during parts of Ghostbusters. He just plain didn't like being scared. When I brought up the idea of doing a haunted house or two, he was leary at best. I spent about a week getting him braved up for this. He yelled out loud about 20+ times, he was plastered to my chest with both my arms pulled down in front of him, his little heart pounded 200 bpm and once we got past Mike Meyers he said it was the coolest thing ever and he wants to do it again. I admit I yelled out loud a few times too and had several very uncomfortable laughs! This was my first trip to this house and it will certainly be an annual event. Many of the houses I have attended in the past spend a lot of time surprising you with people and mechanical things popping out at you...this one had some of that but it wasnt their bread and butter. Terror on Rural spent a great deal of effort getting you into the scene rather than just trying to startle you. All and all, this was a great house!
